I thought I'd send a review of the gig that JCC did in Moseley a couple of
weeks ago
The venue was the Moseley Rugby club, arranged by Martin Mullaney. The show
kicked off with Mike Parker, Al Hutchins and Reginald Hunter, who I believe
are all Birmingham based. John was in his element and it was his longest show yet (He was on stage for getting on for 2 1/2 hours) - the gig started at about 9pm, and finished after 12:30pm. It was quite posh - we all had candles on the tables :)
There was the typical JCC mix of poetry and very sharp observational comedy.
Poems included Twat, The Day My Pad Went Mad, Health Fanatic, Hire Car,
Evidently Chickentown, Martin Newell, etc.
Some of the one-liners that made me smile were: I eat 1/3 of a Mars bar each day.....to help me rest, I read a review of a Welsh gig which said that I'm like a cross between George Fornby and Eddie Murphy.....my new catchphrase is 'turned out nice again, motherfucker!' , If it wasn't for Emmerdale, I wouldn't get any fresh air at all, There's only one person I know who's lazier than I am, and he's an insomniac
bedwetter.
This was the fourth time that I've seen John live, and each time, he
changes the material.
