None the verse for hard living - John Cooper Clarke, Music Box, Victoria Street.
That John Cooper Clarke is still with us today defies medical science. His cadaverous complexion, jet-black hair and pipe-cleaner legs are testimony to the hard living he's enjoyed since he first blazed on to the 70's Manchester scene.
But his razor-sharp wit and machine gun delivery of outrageous punk poems have remained intact. Even when jokes fall flat they are soon forgotten as he launches into another hilarious rhyming rant about anything and everything.
Yes he's bitter and twisted, but you can't help warming to this cynic from Salford as Political Correctness flies out of the window...
Thanks to SPG for sending it to us.
