A copy of JCC's performance on the C.81 N.M.E. cassette that's long out of print. Hopefully they don't mind us using it here for you all to listen to. If they do, I will have to take it down. The introduction is hilarious, and goes like this... “Hi, Sheena Easton here. For a long time I've been a great fan of that marvellous poet, John Cooper Clarke. And I'm here with the massed John Cooper Clarke's of Carnaby Street to perform one of the great man's finest works, 'The Day My Pad went Mad'”. At which point he's joined by a lot of pissed scribes doing JCC impersonations.

The second one is the intro and promo for the same C.81 tape.

        #1: WAV Format - 2.2Megs
        #2: WAV Format - 300k
            #1: MP3 Format - 2 Megs
        #2: MP3 Format - 272k

Note: I've put the Real Audio files below in two slightly different formats. This means if one doesn't work for you and you get an error message, try the other one and keep your fingers crossed. Basically #1 should play live and #2 should download and play... See survey at the end.

        #1) Streaming audio versions:

        • Libera Me. One of the two JCC tracks on the Arqa Seven album. (I've only included the part here where JCC recites). 1 minute 14 seconds.

        • The Truth Lies Therein. The other track from Arqa Seven. This real audio file doesn't do it justice, so hunt down the album if you can. 4 minutes 38 seconds.

        • Death Takes a Holiday. A rare recording from cassette during an interview he did while in Australia when touring with The Fall in the early eighties. 2 minutes 49 seconds.

        • Are You The Business? This one is from a live audience cassette recorded at the Glasgow Fair in the Summer of 1996. 2 minutes 9 seconds.

        • I Mustn't Go Down to The Sea Again. Here's an early one from the Australian tape again. Not sure of the location. 45 seconds.

        • Hire Car. Unfortunately, the source for this file is a poor quality audience cassette from the Cottier Theatre in Glasgow. It's only included because it's a newer unreleased poem for the hard-core fans like us.1 minute 7 seconds.
#2) Download, Save, and then Play versions:

To help me out a bit, please tell me which work best for you... #1 on the left, or #2 on the right?

#1 works best for me... #2 works best... Neither work and I still prefer WAV files

Please check one of the buttons above and click the submit button... Thanks.
