First stop on the Trash Walk tour:

This is Julie hernandez (foreground), 3rd District Code Enforcement Officer for this area and a huge pile of trash... The only problem is, at the time we did the walk, she didn't know she was the person responsible for this illegal dump pile. We thought it was the responsibility of the 1st District and Julie was just here because she was a concerned, caring individual who came out to see it for herself and report back because I was getting nowhere with anyone else. And I thanked her for that. I offered to make sure I explained this when I published the photo because she didn't really want to be photographed with it all, especially since it wasn't her district... this was on the 5th March. In fact, the other person that was with us ducked away immediately when I pulled the camera up to take a picture because she didn't want to be seen with it.
Sadly I have to report that it's still here today March 22nd. And as of today's date 3/23/02 and this page going online, it's still here, (as are every single one of the piles we looked at on the Trash Walk).
When it might actually go is anybody's guess... But at least they can't say they aren't aware of it. My only question is this... if these people really care like they say they do, why is it still sitting here?
