His work as a Producer/Musician with John Cooper Clarke must rank as some of his best efforts, though the number of bands and people that he actually worked with is hard to tell.

I had no idea of his death until recently, and I was shocked to learn of it.

Apparantly there is a CD release called 'Martin' that was put out by Factory Records which contains various pieces by him.

He was never in it for the personal glory, and his satisfaction came from the fun others got from his work. He was our kind of guy. Hopefullyy there will more information about him on the net over time.
